Prof. Dr. Hartmut Hirsch-Kreinsen

Prof. Dr. Hartmut Hirsch-Kreinsen , Senior Research Professor, TU Dortmund University, Technical University of Dortmund Hartmut Hirsch-Kreinsen received his academic education at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where he graduated as an industrial engineer in 1976. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Sociology at the Technical University of Darmstadt from 1978 to 1984 and, after completing his doctorate (1983), from 1985 to 1997 at the Institute for Social Science Research (ISF Munich). In 1997 he was appointed to the Chair of Economic and Industrial Sociology at the TU Dortmund University. He retired in spring 2015. From 2015 to 2020, he was a senior professor at TU Dortmund University and the Faculty of Business and Economics to continue conducting research in industrial and labour sociology in the field of digitalisation of work. During this time, he headed the research area of Industrial and Labour Research, where both basic research and application-oriented research projects in the field of digitization were carried out in close cooperation with the Dortmund Social Research Center of the TU Dortmund University (sfs). Since 2021, he has been a Research Fellow at the Social Research Centre Dortmund.

Dr. Mas Rina Mustafa

Prof. Ts. Dr. Mas Rina Mustaffa is an Associate Professor at the Multimedia Department, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and a registered Professional Technologist (Ts.). A Senior Member of IEEE, she specializes in computer vision, multimedia analytics, pattern recognition, and multimedia information retrieval, with a focus on AI-driven solutions for education, agriculture, and intelligent systems. She has led and collaborated on major national and international projects, including Malaysia’s FRGS grants and the European Union’s Horizon 2020 ULTRACEPT initiative, and recently completed a research secondment at the University of Leicester, UK (2024). Dr. Mas Rina has published extensively in high-impact journals and international conferences (IEEE, ACM, Springer) and is a recipient of multiple Best Paper and Presentation Awards. She is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Intelligent Media Computing, Vice President of PECAMP Malaysia (2025–2027), and currently serves as Publication Chair and Track Chair for several international conferences, advancing global research in intelligent multimedia representation and retrieval.

Dr Mohit Jain

Dr Mohit Jain is a researcher in the Technology and Empowerment (TEM) group at Microsoft Research India. Broadly, he explores the introduction of emerging technologies to new populations, by developing ubiquitous computing systems, designing interaction techniques, and collecting and analyzing data. Over the past decade, he had worked on technological solutions for the developing regions focusing on Health, Sustainability, Education and Agriculture.
Currently, he is developing end-to-end system providing low-cost smartphone-based patient diagnostic solutions for critical diseases.
Dr Mohit jain received his Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Washington, working at the intersection of HCI and AI, focusing on extending interactivity, accessibility and security of conversational systems. While pursuing my Ph.D., he also worked as a Senior Research Engineer in the Cognitive IoT team at IBM Research India. Prior to that, he graduated with a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelors in Information and Communication Technology from DA-IICT. He has received innumerable awards in his career.

Subhadip Basu

Subhadip Basu is a Full Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jadavpur University, where he joined in 2006. He received his PhD from Jadavpur University and did his postdocs from University of Iowa, USA, and University of Warsaw, Poland. Dr Basu also held an honorary position as a Research Scientist at the University of Iowa, USA. He is the Co-Founder and Honorary Advisor of INFOMATICAE, a technology startup headquartered in Kolkata, India. He is the Founding member of SDSA (Social Data Science Alliance), an international AI watchdog, led by Turing Awardee Dr. Yoshua Bengio. Dr. Basu has also worked in reputed International Institutes like, Hitachi Central Research Laboratory, Japan, Bournemouth University, UK, University of Lorraine, France, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Poland and Hannover Medical School, Germany. Dr Basu has 250+ international research publications in the areas of Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Image Analysis etc., He has edited 10+ books, received two US patents, supervised 15 PhD students and received several major research grants from UGC, DST and DBT, Govt. of India. Dr Basu is the recipient of the ‘Research Award’ from UGC, Govt. of India in 2016. He also received the DAAD Senior-Scientist fellowship from Germany, Hitachi Visiting-Research fellowship from Japan, EMMA and CLINK Visiting-Researcher fellowships from the European Union, BOYSCAST and FASTTRACK Young-Scientist fellowships from DST, Govt. of India. He is the past Chairperson of the IEEE Computer Society Kolkata, a senior member of IEEE, member of ACM and life member of IUPRAI.

Dr. Vishal Singh

Dr. Vishal Singh joined IISc as an Associate Professor in March 2020. Before joining IISc, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Aalto University, Finland. He also had a brief stint as Director, Innovation at the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences where he led the Research & Development strategy for the Data-Driven Construction Innovation Hub. At Aalto, Dr. Singh led the Aalto BIM Collaboration and built the Integrated Construction Innovation and Collaboration (ICONIC) Lab focusing on construction informatics and Building Information Modelling (BIM). Previously, he has also worked in Australia as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Deakin University and as a Research Assistant at the University of Newcastle.Dr. Singh serves on scientific committee of several international conference series across Engineering Design, Product Informatics and Lifecycle Management. He has also served as the chair of the Educational Committee in EC3, the European Council for Computing in Construction. He has also been a regular contributor and reviewer across several noted academic journals.Dr. Singh’s research is strongly built on Industry-Academia collaboration, and he has also served as the Chairman of the Board at Visualynk Oy, a Finland-based start-up that provides software as a service for the construction and facilities management sectors.

Siddhartha (Sid) Bhattacharyya’s

Siddhartha Bhattacharyya

Siddhartha (Sid) Bhattacharyya’s primary area of research expertise/interest is in model based engineering/architectural analysis with formal methods for the design, verification and validation of intelligent autonomous systems, cyber security, explainable AI, smart power grid, systems biology and avionics. His research lab ASSIST (Assured Safety, Security and Intent with Systematic Tactics) focuses on the design/development and application of innovative formal methods to assure the performance of intelligent systems, formally verify correctness or predict future behavior as it evolves.

Before joining Florida Institute of Technology, he had been a Sr. Research Engineer at Rockwell Collins’ Advanced Technology Center where he was as a Principle Investigator and researcher on research programs with National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA), Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA), Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) and Office of Naval Research (ONR). He also worked in several collaborative efforts on model based engineering and analysis with Honeywell, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Software Engineering Institute Carnegie Melon University and MIT Lincoln Lab. Prior to that, he had been leading efforts in the area of Software Engineering/Formal Methods and developing new program as a tenured faculty and Interim Chair of the Division of Computer Science at Kentucky State University. He was a summer research fellow at Applied Research Laboratory at Pennsylvania State University where he worked on the design, verification, simulation and synthesis of mission control for autonomous underwater vehicles. He also worked as summer faculty fellow at Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he developed methods for design and analysis of the complex smart power grid.

Dr. Samanta works as Program Head and Assistant Professor at the Department of Computing and Information Technologies, Rochester Institute of Technology, Kosovo, Europe. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engg. from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India, in SAR Image Processing. He is keenly interested in Interdisciplinary Research and development. He has experience spanning fields of SAR Image Analysis, Video surveillance, a Heuristic algorithm for Image Classification, Deep Learning Framework for Detection and Classification, Blockchain, Statistical Modelling, Wireless Adhoc Networks, and Natural Language Processing. He has completed six Consultancy Projects. Under his guidance, four students have accomplished their Ph.D. degrees. He has received funding of 8,110 USD under the Open Access, Publication fund. He received funding under the International Travel Support Scheme in 2019 for attending the conference in Thailand. He has received a Travel Grant to speak at conferences, seminars, etc. for two years from July 2019. He owns 22 Patents (4 Design Indian Patents and 2 Australian patents Granted, 16 Indian Patents published) and 2 copyrights. He has authored and co-authored over 250 research papers in an international journal (SCI/SCIE/ESCI/Scopus) and conferences including IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier Conference proceedings. He received “Scholastic Award” at the 2nd International Conference on Computer Science and IT Application, CSIT-2011, Delhi, India. He is a co-author of 13 books and the co-editor of 17 books, available for sale on Amazon and Flipkart. He has presented various papers at international conferences and received Best Paper awards. He is the author and co-author of 14 Book Chapters. He also serves as acquisition editor for Springer, Wiley, CRC, Scrivener Publishing LLC, Beverly, USA, and Elsevier. He is an IEEE Senior Member, an Associate Life Member of the Computer Society of India (CSI), and a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). Prof. Matthew Chua

Prof. Matthew Chua is the winner of the prestigious Global Excellence Award 2024 (SMART Society, USA), as a distinguished leader in the field of AI and technological innovation in healthcare internationally. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Digital and Smart Health Office, Ng Teng Fong Centre for Healthcare Innovation, National Healthcare Group, to drive impact-driven Digital and AI transformation for the entire healthcare cluster. Matt is also currently an Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics at NUS School of Medicine. He has also won data science competitions at the national level, clinching 3rd place for the Data VIZard at the Data Arcade Tournament 2022. He has also won the prestigious MINDEF Exemplary Innovator Award for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. At NUS, Matt drives the research and lectures on AI and Tech for the advancement of Medicine Health. He has won prestigious research grants, amounting to more than S$8 million, from Ministry of Health, SG Enable, and internationally. He has also published more than 45 papers in prestigious peer-reviewed international journals, many of which are in Q1 tier journals, and is widely cited. He is also the Editor for PLOS One Journal. He is Doctor of Philosophy (National University of Singapore) and Graduate Certificate in Management of Technology (National University of Singapore) as well as Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honors (National University of Singapore)

Erik Cambria

Erik Cambria is a Professor at Nanyang Technological University, where he also holds the appointment of Provost Chair in Computer Science and Engineering, and Founder of several AI companies, such as SenticNet (https://business.sentic.net), offering B2B sentiment analysis services, and finaXai (https://finax.ai), providing fully explainable financial insights. Prior to moving to Singapore, he worked at Microsoft Research Asia (Beijing) and HP Labs India (Bangalore), after earning his PhD through a joint program between the University of Stirling (UK) and MIT Media Lab (USA). Today, his research focuses on neurosymbolic AI for interpretable, trustworthy, and explainable affective computing in domains like social media monitoring, financial forecasting, and AI for social good. He is ranked in Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers List of World’s Top 1% Scientists, is recipient of many awards, e.g., IEEE Outstanding Early Career, was listed among the AI’s 10 to Watch, and was featured in Forbes as one of the 5 People Building Our AI Future. He is an IEEE Fellow, Associate Editor of various top-tier AI journals, e.g., Information Fusion and IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing, and is involved in several international conferences as keynote speaker, program chair and committee member.

Dr Gabor Benedek

Chief Innovation Officer & Co-founder, Lynx Analytics, Gabor is responsible for defining the methodological roadmap of Lynx’s predictive analytics consulting and product development departments. He leads the internal data science team and supports the business development. Gabor has been the co-founder of several other AI start-ups in Healthcare, Finance, Crypto, Telecom and Space Industries, contributing with creative application of state-of-the-art data science models. He received his PhD in 2003, worked as an Associate Professor at Budapest Corvinus University, author of one book and many scientific papers.
